PrerequisitesMyEMR for WindowsIn order to install MyEMR for the Pocket PC, you should have already installed MyEMR for Windows on your desktop computer. We recommend Windows XP and Windows Vista as your desktop partner which runs MyEMR for Windows. |
|
Microsoft ActiveSyncAs part of setting up your new Pocket PC, you should follow the directions for setting up the docking cradle (or other connectors) and have Microsoft ActiveSync installed. |
|
| Please take notice
that Microsoft ActiveSync is part of the software installation CD-ROM that
came with your Pocket PC. However, it is likely that the CD-ROM does
not have the latest version of Microsoft ActiveSync. The latest
version of ActiveSync is always available from Microsoft at
http://www.pocketpc.com and follow
the menu options for download links.
The latest version of Microsoft ActiveSync is version 4.2. You can check your version of ActiveSync by displaying the ActiveSync Window, and choosing: Help->About Microsoft ActiveSync This will display your version of Microsoft ActiveSync. If you have questions, please contact support@softwaremotif.com The following instructions assume a brand new installation. |
|
Step 1: Deleting existing partnerships with your desktop computer.Your Pocket PC will expect to have a single partnership with your desktop computer. To delete one or more partnership(s), from the desktop Microsoft ActiveSync window, choose File->Delete Partnership. When all of your partnerships are deleted, this option will become disabled. Step 2: Connecting as "Guest".Insert your Pocket PC into the cradle. When the desktop computer recognizes the Pocket PC, it will give you the option to establish a "Standard partnership" or to connect as a "Guest partnership". You should choose "Guest partnership" for these next few steps. Step 3: Extracting SetupMyEMRPPC.exe on the desktopLocate the SetupMyEMRPPC.exe on your desktop computer. You may have it on CD-ROM or you may have downloaded it and saved it to your Windows Desktop. Once you have located the SetupMyEMRPPC.exe file, double-click to start the installation. Choose all factory default settings during the installation. When the installation requests "User Name", "Company" and "License" information, complete this as you wish so long as these fields are not blank. No software locking type of licensing is implemented by our policies, and we just ask you to agree to the written licensing information during the installation where you choose "I Agree". During the installation, if the desktop installation software refers you to attend to the Pocket PC, please complete the desktop installation fully, to the extent of choosing "Finish" prior to attending to any screen requests on the Pocket PC. |
